At Nexamom, we believe that the written word should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Our mission is to ensure that the experience of reading our stories, essays, and interviews is seamless for all mothers and caregivers.
We are dedicated to making Nexamom a digital space that is inclusive and usable by the widest possible audience. This includes people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We continuously monitor our platform to identify and remove barriers to access.
We adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards to ensure our content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
We utilize proper heading structures, landmarks, and ARIA attributes to provide context for screen readers and assistive technologies.
Our layouts adapt to various screen sizes and input methods, ensuring usability on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
All images include descriptive alt text for screen readers, and decorative images are marked appropriately.
The entire site is navigable using only a keyboard, with visible focus indicators for all interactive elements.
We maintain a color contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, ensuring readability for those with low vision.
Our base font size is 18px with relative units (rem/vw) allowing users to adjust browser settings without breaking the layout.
While we strive for perfection, we acknowledge that no website is entirely free of limitations. We are currently working to improve the accessibility of third-party video players and complex interactive maps embedded in our articles.
Remediation Timeline: We aim to address these specific issues within the next quarter (Q3 2025).
